VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — The Virginia Beach lodging industry is on pace to break a record for revenues set just last year.
The Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau says lodging revenues of $118 million for the first half of the year are 13 percent higher compared to the same period of 2011.
For all of last year, total lodging revenues hit a record $279 million.
The figures come from tax collections and cover all Virginia Beach hotels, vacation home rentals at Sandbridge and other areas and campgrounds.
