Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich., said Friday he won’t run for Michigan’s open Senate seat, saying he wants to focus on serving his district and as chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.
Many in the GOP establishment pressed Camp to run for the statewide seat after Democratic Sen. Carl Levin announced in March he wouldn’t seek a seventh term in 2014.
