Grant Imahara, former co-host of Mythbusters and the White Rabbit Project, has died.
The 49-year-old electrical engineer and roboticist died following a brain aneurysm, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Imahara was one of the hosts of Discovery Channel’s popular program, Mythbusters, for 10 years. After leaving the show in 2014, he and fellow Mythbusters co-hosts Kari Byron and Tory Belleci reunited in 2016 to create the White Rabbit Project for Netflix. The show ran for one season.
After news broke of Imahara’s death, Byron tweeted a photo of the three of them with the caption, “Somedays I wish I had a time machine.”
Jennifer Newman, Imahara’s fiancee, tweeted, “I haven’t found the words. I don’t know if I’ll be able to. I lost a part of my heart and soul today. He was so generous and kind, so endlessly sweet and so loved by his incredible friends. I feel so lucky to have known him, to have loved and been loved by him. I love you, honey.”
Adam Savage, one of Mythbusters‘s main former co-hosts, tweeted, “I’m at a loss. No words. I’ve been part of two big families with Grant Imahara over the last 22 years. Grant was a truly brilliant engineer, artist and performer, but also just such a generous, easygoing, and gentle PERSON. Working with Grant was so much fun. I’ll miss my friend.”
