BALTIMORE (AP) — An inmate at a state prison has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for sending a threatening letter to a federal judge.
The sentence for 41-year-old Willie Ray Bryant, a prisoner in Cumberland, will run consecutively to a 40-year Maryland sentence and 50-year Delaware sentence he must serve.
Prosecutors say while he was in prison, Bryant smuggled out a letter addressed to a U.S. District judge in September 2010. The judge, who had presided over one of Bryant’s prior criminal cases, received the letter, which threatened him.
