GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (AP) — One highway worker has been killed and another hurt after a car plowed into a highway maintenance vehicle and trailer on a Dallas-area toll road.
Investigators are seeking the car driver and a passenger after the wreck early Monday on the President George Bush Turnpike in Grand Prairie.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says the car hit a pickup truck pulling a trailer as a highway worker put down reflective markers.
Sgt. Lonny Haschel (HASH’-uhl) says the worker on the trailer died at the scene. His name wasn’t immediately released. The pickup driver was slightly hurt.
Haschel says the car hit an unoccupied parked maintenance truck before the driver and the passenger were picked up by a vehicle not in the original wreck and all drove away.
