Republicans on the House Ways and Means Committee rejected an effort by Democrats to postpone for one week a hearing on the GOP plan to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas, presented a motion to delay the hearing, saying lawmakers should have more time to review the measure that GOP House leaders announced Monday.
