Since the Obama administration announced in a federal court filing on Friday that it is abandoning the term “enemy combatants,” the blogosphere has been working hard to think of a suitable term for the folks currently being detained at Gitmo: “undocumented freedom fighters“? “friends whose grievances we haven’t yet accommodated“? “guys who could use a really big hug“? A TWS friend passes along a few more suggestions:

-Unpleasant fellows -Strategic competitors -Smart power resisters -Those who misunderstand what “yes we can” is supposed to mean -Undocumented outdoorsmen

There really are endless possibilities for a kinder label.
