2 expected to recover from shooting in Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Police in Syracuse say two people are expected to recover after they were shot while drinking in front of a home in the city.

Officials say several people were drinking on the front landing of a home on Steuben Street around 10:15 p.m. Thursday when gunshots were heard coming across the street.

Police say a man and a woman, both 26, were hit by projectiles. The woman suffered wounds to her chin, thing and abdomen, while the man underwent surgery for a wound to his abdomen.

Officials say both are expected to survive.

Two men were seen getting into a vehicle that left the scene along with a sport utility vehicle traveling in the same direction.

No arrests have been reported.
