At least seven Pentagon restaurants are closed Thursday for the “Day Without Immigrants” strike, meant to protest President Trump’s immigration policies.
Capt. Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman, said the Pentagon Concessions Committee learned Thursday morning that several establishments would be closed as a result of the strike, which urged immigrants not to go to work for the day. Sbarro’s, Taco Bell, Qdoba, Burger King, Freshens as well as a coffee cart and one of the building’s Starbucks are closed.
Davis said lunch lines at facilities that remain open are expected to be longer.
About 60 restaurants around the D.C. area are also closed on Thursday.
The strike is in response to Trump’s immigration executive order as well as his promise to build a wall along the southern border of the U.S.
