A Catholic church in California claims singer Britney Spears did not go knockin’ on its door amid a claim she was denied having her wedding at the church, according to a report.
A representative at the church claims it has no record of the pop star ever contacting the church or visiting the building, according to TMZ. Spears claimed in a post made to social media, which has since been deleted, that the St. Monica Catholic Church in Los Angeles would not host her wedding.
“This is where I originally wanted to get married during COVID,” Spears’s deleted Instagram post read. “I wanted to go every Sunday. Then 2 years later when I wanted to get married there they said I had to be catholic and go through TEST!!! Isn’t church supposed to be open to all???”

The photo Spears included in her social media post appeared to have been from a livestream and was not a photo she took herself. A couple seen getting married in the photo was a wedding that Spears did not attend, the church representative said.
The representative said that in order for a couple to get married at the church, at least one of the spouses needs to be Catholic.
Spears was married to Sam Asghari on June 9. She was raised Baptist and has also studied Kabbalah, according to the New York Post.
