Police have identified the man charged in a shooting at a gas station in Germantown.
Dmytro Solomatin, 26, of Reston, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and two counts of reckless endangerment.
Montgomery County Police said Solomatin and another man got into an argument while pumping gas at the Freestate gas station at 20650 Frederick Road around 6 p.m. Saturday. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, and the suspect grabbed a handgun from his vehicle.
Solomatin fired one shot at the victim, which struck the victim’s vehicle, police said.
Police said Solomatin turned himself in to police about an hour later.
