Bills Ahead on First Ballot in Minn. GOP Senate Race

St. Cloud, Minn.

State representative Kurt Bills earned 53 percent of the vote of the delegates at the Minnesota Republican party convention on the first ballot. Bills is just 7 percentage points shy of winning the nomination outright with 60 percent support. Dan Severson and Pete Hegseth garnered 23 percent and 21 percent, respectively.

Voting will continue with a second ballot, and neither Severson nor Hegseth appears to be dropping out of the race before then.
