Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a Hillary Clinton surrogate, thinks Clinton needs to tone down her attacks on Bernie Sanders.
“I would hope that both sides would tone down the rhetoric,” said Rendell. “We’re going to need a larger percentage of Bernie Sanders voters to be for Secretary Clinton in November.”
When asked if he told Clinton that, he said, “Yeah I’ve communicated that to several people on the campaign.”
Rendell also praised Sanders for bringing new people into the Democratic party.
David Axelrod said something similar:

Axelrod, and possibly Rendell, are referring to Clinton’s recent comments belittling young people who support Sanders.
“I feel sorry sometimes for the young people who believe this, they don’t do their own research.”
Clinton has also recently suggested Sanders may not really be a Democrat.
