WASHINGTON (AP) — Severe thunderstorms tore through the Washington region, leaving thousands of residents without power and flooding roads.
As of 5:20 a.m. Friday, Pepco was reporting about 6,645 outages in the District of Columbia and Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. Baltimore Gas and Electric was reporting about 7,590 outages. About 4,600 of those outages were in Baltimore City.
Authorities responded to flooded roadways in the Gaithersburg and Rockville areas on Thursday night, but no injuries were reported. Significant flooding was also reported in the Baltimore area.
