KENDALLVILLE, Ind. (AP) — A northeastern Indiana family-owned business says it’s closing its doors after being hard hit by the recession.

Hy-Matic Manufacturing Inc. President Rick Borger told kpcnews.com Thursday (http://bit.ly/XTvQzG ) his Kendallville company will close its doors next week when its last customer order is filled,

Borger says he couldn’t afford to keep doors open after the company recently lost its two biggest customers.

Hy-Matic has been in business in Kendallville more than 50 years. It makes high-quality specialty parts from aluminum, brass and steel alloys for engine, transmission and hydraulic applications. Customers included the heavy equipment, automotive and agricultural industries.

Borger says several of his 10 employees already have new jobs lined up.
