HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Maryland State Police say a woman has died after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 40 in Hagerstown.

It happened about 1:35 p.m. Friday in front of Greenbrier State Park. Troopers say a car driven by 34-year-old Cheron Leighton of Baltimore was traveling out of the park. Police say once out of the driveway, Leighton made a U-turn in front of a truck driven by 55-year-old Carroll Coleman Jr. of Hagerstown.

The truck hit the car, causing the car to spin and ejecting Leighton and a passenger, 23-year-old Tiara Elliott of Baltimore.

Elliott was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Leighton was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with serious injuries. Another passenger in Leighton’s car, 31-year-old Troy Roberson of Baltimore, was taken to a Hagerstown hospital with serious injuries.
