NEW YORK (AP) — A New York City firefighter is hospitalized in serious condition after sustaining an injury while battling a blaze at a Brooklyn public-housing high rise.
A fire department spokesman says the firefighter was taken Saturday night to Woodhull Medical Center. The spokesman would not disclose details of the injury.
The two-alarm fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. in an apartment on the 19th floor of a 21-floor building on Wilson Street in Williamsburg.
It’s part of a six-building complex owned by the New York City Housing Authority.
