Gordon Tomaselli leads Hopkins cardiology division

Dr. Gordon Tomaselli, an expert on sudden cardiac death and heart rhythm disturbances, has been named the new director of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine’s Division of Cardiology and co-director of the school’s Heart and Vascular Institute.

Tomaselli, 53, has focused his research on arrhythmias and new therapies to ward off the potentially fatal heart condition.

As the new cardiology chief, he will lead 713 people who treat more than 4,000 patients a year and oversee the annual $40 million research budget.
