ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A State Supreme Court jury has found a 32-year-old Rochester man guilty in the slayings of two men outside a nightclub last summer.
Local media report that Ralph Strong was found guilty Tuesday evening of two counts of first-degree murder and one count each of attempted aggravated murder, aggravated assault on a police officer, second-degree assault, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Strong testified Monday he felt threatened and thought he was about to be robbed when he fatally shot 31-year-old Jahmia Singleton and 27-year-old Reggie Johnson in the chest during an argument outside a city club.
Strong eventually was arrested after a brief pursuit late last June that ended with a shootout in northeast Rochester that wounded Strong, a city police officer, and a passing motorist.
