A man and a woman were killed in a head-on crash in Anne Arundel County.
Police said it’s still unknown why Robert L. Lynch, 57, drove his Ford F-350 van across the middle of the roadway and struck 47-year-old Angela Astin’s Volkswagan Passat head-on. The two vehicles left the roadway and the van caught fire.
Lynch, of Annapolis, and Astin, of Chesapeake Beach, were pronounced dead at the scene, Anne Arundel County police said.
The crash happened on Solomon’s Island Road near Solitude Court in Lothian shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday.
Police said speed is not believed to have been a factor in the crash and it’s not known whether alcohol was involved.
