HBO Max will be debuting a new director’s cut of the film Justice League.
HBO’s subscription-based streaming service announced Wednesday it would unveil the film’s cut as directed by Zack Snyder, who also directed Watchmen, 300, and Man of Steel.
“Only on HBO Max 2021,” HBO Max said in a tweet.

The theatrical version of the film was released in November 2017, grossing $658 million worldwide and $228 million in the United States. The film performed worse financially than Snyder’s relaunch of DC Comics superhero Superman in the 2013 film Man of Steel and the 2016 movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as the 2017 film Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins.
Snyder stepped down from his role directing Justice League after the death of his daughter Autumn. However, Joss Whedon, the director of Marvel’s The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, filled the role to direct the remainder of the movie.
“Since I got here 14 months ago, the chant to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut has been a daily drumbeat in our offices and inboxes. Well, the fans have asked, and we are thrilled to finally deliver,” WarnerMedia Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said.
