Two District teenagers were sentenced to 40 years in prison for killing a man and wounding another during a robbery of a dice game in Southeast Washington.
Aaron Andrews, 19, and Curtis Weeks, 18, noticed the game in the parking lot in the 1100 block of Eaton Road SE on Sept. 25, 2009, and returned with guns and announced a robbery.
One of the players started to run, and Andrews shot him in the stomach. Reggie Cook, 20, ran to his friend’s aid and got into a struggle over Andrews’ gun. Weeks then shot Cook in the chin, killing him, authorities said. Cook died on his mother’s birthday.
