Donald Trump called for him and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to take drug tests prior to Wednesday’s third and final presidential debate, suggesting that she is taking performance-enhancing drugs during a rally on Saturday.
Trump told supporters in Portsmouth, N.H., that he isn’t sure “what’s going on with her,” pointing to her performance in the last debate nearly a week ago.

“Athletes, they make them take a drug test. I think we should take a drug test prior to the debate,” Trump said. “I do. I think we should, why don’t we do that? We should take a drug test prior, because I don’t know what’s going on with her. But at the beginning of her last debate she was all pumped up at the beginning and at the end she was like, ‘Oh, take me down.’ ”
“And she could barely even reach her car,” he said later on, referring to Clinton’s medical episode she suffered while attending a Sept. 11, 2001 memorial service in New York last month.
Trump’s comments on Saturday are a continuation of his claim that Clinton does not have the “strength or the stamina” to serve as president. It also could be a way for Trump to change the subject after two more women leveled sexual assault accusations at the real estate tycoon.
Wednesday’s debate is slated to be held in Las Vegas, Nev., at 9 p.m.
