‘SNL’: Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller reenact ‘Meet the Parents’ lie detector test as Robert Mueller, Michael Cohen

Saturday Night Live” this week brought a “Meet the Parents” reunion of sorts, but one that eschewed the father-son-in-law-to-be dynamic for a lie-detector test operated by special counsel Robert Mueller on Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller, who starred in the comedy series that spawned three films, play Mueller and Cohen respectively, reenacting the interrogation scene from “Meet the Parents.”

In the 2000 movie, De Niro plays Jack Byrnes, a retired CIA agent, whose daughter Pam is dating Stiller, Gaylord “Greg” Focker. The two don’t hit it off so well and shenanigans ensue.

SNL’s mock interrogation scene comes after FBI agents raided Cohen’s home and office on Monday — a move that was reportedly approved by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who is overseeing Mueller’s Russia investigation.

Cohen is under investigation for potentially committing bank fraud and violating campaign finance rules, according to the Washington Post. Some of the records that were obtained are tied to the payment Cohen made to adult film star Stormy Daniels not long before the 2016 election. Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claims to have had an extramarital sexual encounter with Trump in 2006.
