Police say they have arrested a man who hailed a cab in Montgomery County, then carjacked the driver at gunpoint in Frederick several hours later.
The suspect summoned the cab at about 10 p.m. Sunday in Montgomery and had the cab drive him to several locations in Montgomery and Frederick counties throughout the night. At about 5 a.m. Monday, the man displayed a handgun and carjacked the cab.
Frederick police said Christopher Wong is charged with armed carjacking, armed robbery, assault and theft.
A lookout was issued for the cab after the incident, and witnesses reported seeing the vehicle in Montgomery County. Wong was then developed as a suspect, police said.
