Embattled Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki announced he would fire officials at a troubled VA facility where 40 vets are alleged to have died while waiting for treatment.

“I’ve initiated the process for the removal of the senior leaders at the Phoenix VA Medical Center,” Shinseki said, speaking to a national conference in Washington on combatting chronic homelessness among vets.
