Dem group says FBI meddling in campaign

A Democratic political action committee filed a complaint with the Justice Department Friday arguing that FBI Director James Comey violated federal law when he decided to delve further into the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

The Democratic Coalition Against Trump alleges Comey is “interfering in the presidential election,” thereby running afoul of the Hatch Act.

The 1939 law bars most executive branch employees from engaging in political activities.

“It is absolutely absurd that FBI Director Comey would support Donald Trump like this with only 11 days to go before the election,” stated PAC adviser Scott Dworkin. “It is an obvious attack from a lifelong Republican who used to serve in the [President George W] Bush White House, just to undermine” Clinton’s campaign, he said.
