1. FAVORITE LOCAL SPORTS EVENT

Skins games. Even though they break my heart every year, I never stop loving them.

2. BEST MODE OF TRANSPORTATION

Metro, though those Segway things look like a lot of fun.

Coco Moka in Silver Spring (3850 International Drive), and Ebenezers [Coffeehouse] on Capitol Hill when I’m in D.C.

4. BEST PLACE FOR LIVE MUSIC

Jazz in the Sculpture Garden at the National Gallery of Art.

5. BEST PLACE FOR OUT-OF-TOWN VISITORS

The restaurant underneath the Democratic National Committee. Where else can you go to see members of Congress singing karaoke?

6. FAVORITE MUSEUM

The Building Museum has a beautiful interior and is a great place to sit an enjoy a cup of coffee. I used to study there when I was in law school.

7. MOST ROMANTIC SPOT

The West Steps of the U.S. Capitol at night, where you can see all the way down the Mall to the Lincoln Memorial.

8. FAVORITE WAY TO SPEND A LAZY SUNDAY

Going to church, spending time with friends, reading at coffee shops.

9. BEN’S CHILI BOWL, OLD EBBITT GRILL OR CAFE MILANO?

Nando’s Peri-Peri.

13. PROUDEST PART OF LIVING IN THE D.C. REGION

So many passionate, brilliant people who come here to try to make the world a better place.

14. EMBARRASSING PART OF LIVING IN D.C. REGION

The traffic in our area is one of the biggest threats to our quality of life. We need to invest in transit-oriented, smart-growth policies that make our communities more livable.

15. BEST BREAKFAST SPOT

Terrace Room at Leisure World.
