Republican congressman Tom McClintock was given a police escort out of a town hall near Sacramento, Calif., on Saturday in response to a mob of protesters at the event, according to local reports.
McClintock, a congressman for California’s 4th Congressional District, spoke in a theater in Roseville about the Republican agenda.

Outside the venue, the Sacramento Bee reported that hundreds of demonstrators gathered, totting signs that read “Resist,” “Dump Tom McTrump” and “Climate change is real,” signs and chanting “vote him out.”
KQED News reported that interviews with McClintock after the event were not allowed because of security concerns, which included threats.
After the event, as McClintock was escorted out by law enforcement, the protesters shouted, “This is what democracy looks like.”
