Nick Carter, the youngest member of the Backstreet Boys, has filed a restraining order against his younger brother, singer and actor Aaron Carter.
The younger Carter, 31, announced via Twitter that the restraining order had been filed against him by his older brother Nick, 39. “So my brother just got a a [sic] restraining order against me. And I was just served lol,” Carter said.

Confirming that the legal action against Aaron had been taken, Nick tweeted a brief statement on Twitter. “After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today,” Nick said of himself and Aaron’s twin sister Angel.
“In light of Aaron’s increasingly alarming behavior and his recent confession that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child, we were left with no choice but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family,” Nick Carter also wrote.

Aaron, who is active on Twitter, has been on the record several times alluding to allegations of rape and sexual abuse against his older brother that spanned years. Since the announcement of the restraining order on Tuesday, Aaron has maintained that he is not a threat to anyone in his family and has not seen them for years. He insists, instead, that the restraining order was the result of his insistence that his brother is guilty of assaulting minor girls.
Naming several women he alleges are familiar with Nick and his supposed crimes, Aaron took to social media to claim his case against his brother while also claiming that there was no chance of reconciliation. “Paris [Hilton] knows the truth. She can talk out when she’s ready,” Carter tweeted in light of the restraining order. “@KayaJones knows the truth, she can talk out when she’s ready. Nick Carter dated Hotel heiress Paris Hilton in the early 2000s before meeting his current wife, Lauren. Actress Melissa Schuman accused Carter of raping her when she was a teen but her case was dismissed by the LAPD in 2018. Both Carter brothers have long histories of substance abuse problems, including arrests for fighting and for driving under the influence.
Aaron Carter also asserted on a recent episode of The Doctors that he was schizophrenic, manic depressive, and suffered from multiple personalities as well as acute anxiety. He has been open about his struggles with drugs and alcohol over the years.
