The Federal Aviation Administration has created a no-fly zone over Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan until Jan. 21, 2017, the day after President-elect Donald Trump is inaugurated as the next president of the United States.

The Thursday order cited “VIP Movement” as the reason for the temporary restriction over the two-mile wide zone around Trump’s building, where Trump celebrated his unexpected triumph early Wednesday morning. The release followed a night of protests in the Big Apple where demonstrators shut down traffic by Fifth Avenue and East 57th Street as they marched to Trump Tower to denounce the country’s newly elected leader.
