The used car lot at the corner of Franklin Street and Rhode Island Avenue Northeast will soon be home to a different line of business in the spring: marijuana growing products.

Now that medical marijuana is legal in the District, WeGrow, a franchise known as the “Walmart of Weed,” plans to open its first East Coast location in Washington next month. The store specializes in hydroponic growth, a method that uses mineral water instead of soil.
