SAN ANTONIO (AP) — CPS Energy is warning Texans to watch out for scammers after 100 rain jackets with company logos were stolen from a warehouse.

The company reported Tuesday night that the jackets, tools, clothing and other items were taken from an apparel vendor. CPS Energy is offering a $2,500 reward for the return of the jackets.

The natural gas and electric company services more than 1 million customers in the greater San Antonio area.

The company warns of scam artists who demand money from commercial and residential customers. It says thieves will threaten to cut service or ask for payment to install a smart meter.

CPS Energy says its employees always wear a badge with a photo and employee number.
