Harvey Weinstein could face indictment in New York City next week

The Manhattan district attorney seeking an indictment of Harvey Weinstein could yield its case as early as next week, according to a report citing a senior official familiar with the matter.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance was unable to confirm that the case could be presented to a grand jury next week, as the Weinstein investigation is ongoing, NBC News 4 reports.

“I really can’t comment but we’ll move as fast as we can to resolve the outstanding issues,” Vance told the news outlet.

NYPD Chief of Detective Robert Boyce told reporters Friday they had presented evidence to the district attorney’s office that could lead to the arrest Weinstein on rape charges.

Vance also said his office is working closely with the NYPD regarding the investigation.

“We are on the same page when it comes to mission, which is protecting the public and preventing crime and building investigations and cases.”
