NORTH HILLS, N.Y. (AP) — A Long Island village is set to expand its pooper scooter law to include dog owner’s property.

North Hills Mayor Marvin Natiss says the expanded ordinance was prompted by a complaint from a resident.

He tells Fox 5 News the resident complained runoff from a dog owner’s property carried the waste to an adjacent lawn where children walked.

Natiss says he expects the new ordinance to be approved by the board of trustees.

Some homeowners believe it will be difficult to enforce.
