After a White House meeting with President Trump, top GOP lawmakers in Michigan asserted that the winner of the election will only be determined by who received the most votes.
Trump met with Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield, Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey, and other state legislators on Friday in a gathering that was highly scrutinized amid the backdrop of the Trump campaign’s legal challenges in the state. After the meeting, the lawmakers indicated that they do not seek to play a role in handing Trump electors, despite speculation among some in the Left.
