Police say a 19-year-old illegal immigrant brutally stabbed an Alexandria man in December, then abducted the man and left him for dead in Fairfax County.

Prince William County police said Thursday that Gelber Boror, of the 14400 block of Gemstone Drive in Woodbridge, is charged in the attack.

Boror and the victim, a 46-year-old man, met at East Coast Billiards in Woodbridge, then went to a home on the 14100 block of Franklin Street on Dec. 1, police said. There, Boror allegedly stabbed the man several times in the chest, forced him into his own vehicle and drove him to Fairfax County. He dumped the man near a pond in the Springfield Drive area in Lorton, police said.

Boror took the victim’s cell phone and personal belongs, then drove back to Woodbridge, according to police.

Police said the victim somehow ended up in a pond, crawled out of the water and flagged down a passerby, who called 911.

He was hospitalized and could not immediately be interviewed because of the severity of his injuries.

Police said Gelber is in the country illegal and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer on him. He is facing charges of abduction, aggravated malicious wounding, armed robbery and other related offenses.
