Former Vice President Joe Biden appeared to extend the timeline for his announcing a run for president yet again, signaling to an audience he would decide “in a few weeks.”
In April 2018, Biden said he would be deciding at “the end of the year.” In recent months, he has repeatedly teased that he is about to decide.
On Tuesday, however, Biden told an International Association of Fire Fighters audience: “I appreciate the energy you showed when you got up here — save it a little longer, I may need it in a few weeks.” Responding to applause, he added: “Be careful what you wish for.”

The former vice president is expected to announce that he is running for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020. If he runs, he will join a crowded group vying to unseat President Trump in the general election.
Biden is already leading other candidates in the key early-voting states of Iowa and Michigan. According to a RealClearPolitics average of polls, Biden leads with 29 percent support – 7 points ahead of second place Bernie Sanders.
