President Trump blasted his niece Mary Trump, saying she has been mocked her whole life and was unliked by her grandfather.

Mary Trump wrote a scathing book about the president and has also called on him to resign. The president criticized her on Twitter on Saturday, just hours after she released apparent audio recordings of the president’s sister ridiculing various members of the Trump family.

“About the only way a person is able to write a book on me is if they agree that it will contain as much bad ‘stuff’ as possible, much of which is lies. It’s like getting a job with CNN or MSDNC and saying that ‘President Trump is great.’ You have ZERO chance. FAKE NEWS!” the president said.

“Even whether it’s dumb warmongers like John Bolton, social pretenders like Bob Woodward, who never has anything good to say, or an unstable niece, who was now rightfully shunned, scorned and mocked her entire life, and never even liked by her own very kind & caring grandfather!” President Trump added.

Mary Trump’s book, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man, was released in July despite the efforts of the president’s younger brother Robert Trump to prevent it from being published.

Mary Trump released recordings on Friday purporting to be those of the president’s sister, Maryanne Trump Barry. The two are heard talking about how comedian Samantha Bee called Ivanka Trump a “feckless c—” for posting a photo of her and her child embracing amid family separations at the border.

“When that damn Ivanka puts this picture of the Madonna and Child on Instagram when the big news of the day was how children are getting ripped away from their parents, I couldn’t blame — I’d never heard of Samantha Bee, but I couldn’t blame what she said,” Trump Barry said.

“Eric’s become the moron publicly. […] [Ivanka] is a mini-Donald, but he’s besotted with her. He always has been. She’s always been his favorite,” she said of Trump’s grown children.
