President Trump gave a video update Saturday evening from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, a day after he headed to the hospital by helicopter following his COVID-19 diagnosis.
“I came here, wasn’t feeling so well — I feel much better now,” Trump said. “We’re working hard to get me all the way back.”
The commander-in-chief noted that he hopes to be back working at full capacity soon. He called the therapeutic drugs that he has been prescribed as “miracles coming down from God.”

Trump announced his diagnosis in the early hours of Friday morning. On Saturday, there were conflicting reports of his condition, but Trump insisted that he is doing well and hoping for a “very good result.”
Presidential physician Dr. Sean Conley said earlier on Saturday that Trump was doing well and that he is “extremely happy” with his progress. However, the optimism that Conley portrayed was dampened when a White House official reportedly expressed a more concerning reality to the White House press pool.
Moments after the press conference concluded, the anonymous source familiar with the president’s health, alleged to be chief of staff Mark Meadows, told the press pool that the president’s health was much bleaker.
“The president’s vitals over the last 24 hours were very concerning, and the next 48 hours will be critical in terms of his care,” the source told the press pool, before noting that “we’re still not on a clear path to a full recovery.”
