EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (AP) — Nassau County police say a 50-year-old man has been killed after he lost control of his car and struck two utility poles on Long Island.
Paul Wentz of Cedarhurst was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly after the accident in East Meadow. It happened just after 7 p.m. on Monday.
Police say Wentz was driving west on Hempstead Turnpike when he lost control of his car and crossed over a divider and the eastbound lanes, striking the utility poles. His car then overturned.
An investigation is continuing.
