RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The National Weather Service has a confirmed a tornado swept through Hanover County over the weekend.
Meteorologist Scott Minnick says winds reached up to 80 miles per hour as the twister blew down numerous trees along at four-and-a-half-mile path. The tornado touched down at 8:11 p.m. Saturday in Mechanicsville and traveled south/southeast for about 10 minutes before it lifted.
Minnick says there was minimal structural damage.
