The Daily Outrage: ‘Medicaid’ is generic for ‘waste’

WHO: Medicaid WHAT: According to an American Enterprise Institute study, Medicaid wastes $329 million annually on expensive brand-name drugs when cheaper generic versions are available.

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: The federal government is more than $14 trillion in debt and many state budgets are in dire straits as well, largely because of Medicaid. Why not buy generic and save tax dollars?

WHERE TO VENT: Call the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services at 877-696-6775 or contact your state’s Medicaid center.
