Journalist Ronan Farrow referenced Bill Clinton’s track record when discussing his coverage of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.
In a profile for GQ Magazine, Farrow outlined a time he went to a weekend engagement that Charlie Rose hosted in Aspen, and he explained that was where he met Harvey Weinstein for the first time and said, “It’s even possible maybe Bill Clinton was there.”
Calling it “a real Who’s Who on this issue,” he linked the Hollywood elite’s abusive behavior that sparked the #MeToo movement with the former president, who has been accused of predatory behavior toward women.
Clinton, who was infamously involved with White House intern Monica Lewinsky while he was in office, has agreed that the #MeToo movement was long overdue but maintained that he “did the right thing” by not resigning.
Several men have either resigned or been forced out of their positions because of accusations of sexual misconduct since the start of the movement, including Charlie Rose and former “Today” show host Matt Lauer.
Farrow was the one who originally broke the story of sexual assault allegations against Weinstein, which spiraled into several others coming forward to share their stories, and ultimately led to the #MeToo movement.
Farrow worked as an adviser to Clinton’s wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, at the State Department from 2011-2012.
