Montgomery County police found graffiti containing racial slurs and “a sexually-descriptive drawing” on a building at North Bethesda Middle School early Saturday morning and believe the case may be linked to another recent school vandalism. According to the report, police responded to an alarm at 2:40 a.m. Saturday where they found the graffiti, several broken windows and seven vehicles on Beech Avenue with paint on them. One car had been vandalized with “the same ethnically-offensive word painted on it.”
Detectives believe the case may be linked to a July 13 vandalism at Herbert Hoover Middle School that included similar sexual images and “hate-based language.” Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest or indictment. Anonymous tipsters can call (866) 411-TIPS or (240) 773-8477.
