Rudy Giuliani wants Chris Christie for attorney general

Rudy Giuliani, one of President Trump’s lawyers, said former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie would do well as the attorney general in the Trump administration.

“He’s my No. 1 candidate. I don’t know if he wants it. He may be too involved with his law practice,” Giuliani told the Record, a New Jersey newspaper, on Saturday. “I see him also as a guy who has unlimited possibilities in the second term.”

Christie, who supported President Trump’s 2016 campaign after dropping out of the race himself, finished his second term in office in mid-January. He briefly led Trump’s transition team in 2016 and recently opened his own law practice.

Jeff Sessions is the current attorney general, though Trump often publicly criticizes him for having recused himself from overseeing special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.
