Barack Obama posed for photos with a 6-month-old Alaskan baby last week after her mother spotted the former president at Anchorage International Airport.
In an account published by the Associated Press, Jolene Jackinsky recalled the moment she saw Obama.
“As I got closer, I thought: Oh my God, it is Obama,” Jolene Jackinsky said on Friday. She added that Obama walked up and asked, “Who is this pretty girl?”
Photos, including a selfie, that she snapped of the former president holding her baby, who was wearing a floppy hat, flooded social media on Saturday.

Jackinsky described the encounter in further detail with CNN. “It was unreal and very exciting. After I met him I couldn’t believe I actually talked to him and he held my baby,” she said.
That report said Obama was at the Alaskan airport upon his return from a trip to Asia.
As CNN also points out, there is a number of photos over the years of Obama meeting youths of all ages, many of which are posted on Instagram by Peter Souza, who was the White House photographer while Obama was in office.
