SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — A slate that a teacher used back in the 1800s to help children learn how to write may not be worthy of a spot in a museum — unless one of those children was Abraham Lincoln.
In a news release, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Museum in Springfield says just such a slate has been donated by descendants of a teacher who taught Lincoln and other children in a Kentucky cabin classroom.
