LEESBURG ,Va. (AP) — A fire official says at least three people were injured when a portion of a deck at a house in Loudoun County collapsed.
A spokesman for the Loudoun County fire and rescue service says the collapse happened at about 4:40 p.m. Sunday. Spokesman Timothy Menzenwerth says none of the injuries appeared to be life threatening. The collapse happened at a home in the 14300 block of Loyalty Road.
According to an initial report of the collapse about two dozen people were on the deck when the accident happened. It appeared the portion of the deck farthest from the house swung downward towards the ground.
Building engineers will try to determine the collapse’s cause.
