A second teenage girl has died from injuries suffered when a car struck a deer on a dangerous stretch of road in Haymarket.
Prince William County Police said 15-year-old Savanna Kidane Mouratidis succumbed to her injuries Friday. Her friend Kendra Kaeleen Tucker, also 15, died early Wednesday at the scene of the crash.
Mouratides and three others teenagers were taken by helicopters to an area hospital after their car swerved to try to avoid a deer and struck a tree. All the occupants were students at Battlefield High School. Police said the driver, and 18-year-old male, was speeding, and none of the teenagers were wearing seatbelts.
It’s the second crash that has killed two teenagers on Logmill Road in the past eight months. Last August, Battlefield High graduate Stephen Dixon, 18, and Derek Mefferet, 15, were killed in when their car struck another car.
